Traditional shopping malls are giving way to lifestyle centers. Lifestyle centers are outdoor shopping centers with plazas, fountains and pedestrian streets. According to a recent report by the International Council of Shopping Centers, less than five new traditional shopping malls have opened since 2006. During the same period, more than sixty lifestyle centers have opened for business.
